Number one UFC middleweight contender Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort is just shy of two weeks removed from his title fight with middleweight champ Anderson Silva. The 19-8 Brazilian knockout artist has seen scheduled bouts with Silva cancelled twice prior, due to injuries incurred by both men. He will finally get his shot to fight for the championship this February 5th, more than a year since he last fought, when he made his UFC debut against Rich Franklin in September of 2009.
Having recently parted ways with former head coach Shawn Tompkins, Belfort has been spending the latter portion of his training camp working primarily out of the Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas, Nevada. That is where MMANewsLeak.com recently caught up with “The Phenom” to get his take on the bout with Silva and offer some insight into his relationship with boxing legend Mike Tyson.
