MMAWeekly.com is reporting that a featherweight match up between The Ultimate Fighter 12 cast member Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres and former WEC fighter Mackens Semerzier has been added to the upcoming Ultimate Fight Night 24 fight card.
Caceres was one of the cast members who stood out the most on TUF 12, both for his flashy fighting style and his antics. He defeated Paul Barrow and Jeff Lentz to advance to the quarter-finals, where he was defeated by Michael Johnson. He was slated to face off against Nam Phan on The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale, but was forced out of the bout with an injury. Fighting out of Miami, Florida, Caceres owns a record of 4-2, with his wins being split evenly between (T)KOs and submissions and his two losses coming via armbar submission. Caceres will be making his featherweight debut.
Mack “Da Menaze” Semerzier fights out of Virginia Beach, Virginia and does the bulk of his training at Linxx Academy of Martial Arts. He made his WEC debut in October of 2009, shocking the world by submitting Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Wagnney Fabiano in the first round by triangle choke. He stumbled in his next WEC outings however, getting outwrestled by Deividas Taurosevicius for a unanimous decision loss, submitted by Javier Vazquez and losing a very close split-decision to Cub Swanson. Semerzier owns a professional record of 5-3.
Ultimate Fight Night 24 is slated to go down March 26, 2011 at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. The fight card is expected to feature a light heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, a welterweight tilt between Dan Hardy and Anthony Johnson, a heavyweight bout between Sean McCorkle and Christian Morecraft and another welterweight bout between Amir Sadollah and Duane Ludwig.
