MMAFighting.com is reporting that a heavyweight match up between Sean McCorkle and Christian Morecraft has been agreed to for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 24 fight card.
Indianapolis, Indiana native Sean McCorkle suffered the first loss in his eleven-fight professional career earlier this month when he succumbed to ground strikes delivered by Stefan Struve in the co-main event of UFC 124: St. Pierre vs. Koscheck 2. A regular on The Underground MMA forum, McCorkle worked his way into the UFC on the strength of some aggressive and entertaining self-promotion; going undefeated in nine fights didn’t hurt his case either. He debuted against former PRIDE FC star Mark Hunt, submitting the New Zealander in the first round.
Christian Morecraft also suffered his first loss to Stefan Struve, his defeat coming by way of knockout this past August at UFC 117. Prior to that fight, he had racked up a 6-0 record in smaller promotions. Fighting out of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Morecraft earned three of his victories by TKO and three by submission. His last appearance came against Struve in August.
UFC Fight Night 24 will likely take place on March 26th at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. The card is likely to feature a bout between welterweights Dan Hardy and Anthony Jonhson, as well as a light heavyweight tilt between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
