Josh Koscheck is Boston healing from wounds suffered in his five round title fight loss to UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre this past Saturday in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The American Kickboxing Academy welterweight was unable to fly back to his home base of San Jose, California from Montreal due to an air pocket which formed behind the broken orbital that St. Pierre gifted him; there were concerns over the possibility of further damage to the injury caused by pressure changes while flying.
He and trainer Bob Cook rerouted to Boston, where Koscheck will undergo surgery to correct the injury, which was caused by St. Pierre’s repeatedly landed jabs.
The brash 170-pounder posted a picture of his eye to his Twitter account after the fight, with the leftover swelling indicating the severity of the injury. You can check out the photo below:
