Team GSP teammates Michael Johnson and Jonathan Brookins have advanced to the finals of The Ultimate Fighter Season 12, and will square off this Saturday night to determine the winner of the competition.
Brookins (11-3) defeated fellow Team GSP teammate Kyle Watson on last night’s two-hour episode via unanimous decision, while Johnson (8-4) was able to upset Team Koscheck’s Nam Phan via split-decision.
Johnson, who was Team GSP’s first pick, also earned victories over Aaron Wilkinson and Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres leading into last night’s episode. Brookins, Team GSP’s second pick, had earned quick first-round submission wins over Sevak Magakian and Sako Chivitchian before last night’s victory.
The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 Finale takes place this Saturday from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. In addition to the Johnson-Brookins matchup, season 1 finalist Stephan Bonnar will face Igor Pokrajac in the evening’s main event, while Demian Maia will square off against Kendall Grove in another featured bout.
