Round 1: Simpson scores first with a body shot. A combination lands for Simpson, he looks for the takedown against the fence. They break and take to the center of the cage. Munoz grabs Simpson and lands a knee to the body. A nice left lands for Munoz on his way back into the clinch. They break again and look to strike. Munoz wings a left hook that just misses. Simpson gets Munoz down and almost takes his back but Munoz scrambles. Simpson lands a double, but Munoz scrambles out again. Munoz with a few nice heavy punches in the clinch. He wobbles Simpson and Simpson looks for the tie up. Munoz turns him on the cage, they are jockeying for position. Munoz misses on a high kick. He lands a leg kick, and Simpson misses on a flying knee to close the round. Close round.

Round 2: Simpson lands a solid right to the body. A kick to the body to follow. Munoz returns with a kick of his own, Simpson catches it and dumps him to the ground. He briefly goes for Munoz’s back again but Munoz scrambles away. Munoz lands with a few heavy punches that have Simpson looking dazed. They stop the action because of a low blow delivered by Simpson, Munoz is bleeding from his forehead. Munoz lands a right leg kick, tries it again and Simpson almost catches it for a second time. They are both swinging away without landing much. Simpson grabs another of Munoz’s leg kicks. Munoz kicks Simpson square in the face but he soldiers on and eventually gets a takedown. The ref stands them up for some reason, seems pretty questionable. Munoz lands one of his leg kicks and then nails Simpson low for another halt to the action. The tape replay shows a headbutt causing Munoz’s cut. Munoz throws another leg kick that gets him taken down. He attempts to reverse and look for a takedown of his own but Simpson voids. Munoz lands with nice right. They clinch and exchange a few knees. They are riding the cage with ten seconds to go.
