UFC welterweight contender Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit is fresh off of his biggest UFC win yet, as he knocked out former number one contender Dan Hardy in the first round of their UFC 120 meeting. He is scheduled to next face Chris “Lights Out” Lytle at UFC 127 this coming February in a fight that he told MMA DieHards he is very much looking forward to.
“Life’s been great [since the win over Hardy],” Condit said. “I’ve been relaxing a little bit but there’s always improvements to be made. I’m not satisfied with that win, I want the belt and I’m going to continue to work toward that.”
Having actually spent some time training with Lytle, Condit knows firsthand the kind of skills, determination and heart “Lights Out” brings to the table and he couldn’t be happier than to face an opponent of Lytle’s ilk.
“I’ve trained with Chris a little bit, we’ve sparred,” said Condit. “Great guy, great fighter and I’m looking forward to the fight.”
“The Natural Born Killer” told MMA DieHards that he is unafraid of testing himself in any area against Lytle (or anyone else for that matter), saying, “I don’t necessarily want to stay off the ground. I’m down for whatever. I’ll match skills with anybody, standing or on the ground.”
When asked how he plans on defeating Lytle, Condit answered coyly, “By any means necessary.”
