Several Bouts In The Works For “UFC Fight For The Troops” In January

After two years since the last “Fight for the Troops” event, the UFC is preparing to make a formal announcement about their next “Fight for the Troops” event.

Rumored to be taking place on January 22nd from the military base at Fort Hood, several exciting fights are in the works. As we reported yesterday, Kenny Florian is expected to face Evan Dunham in the main event.

“@Kenny_Florian will be fighting evan dunham on jan 22 fight for the troops,” Malki Kawa, Kenny Florian’s manager, wrote on his Twitter account. “Kenny is excited to be fighting in front of our armed forces.”

Also rumored to take place on the card is a lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and Yves Edwards, along with a heavyweight clash featuring Matt Mitrione facing Canadian Tim Hague. There are also reports that Mike Swick has verbally agreed to a fight with David Mitchell.

UFC Fight for the Troops 2 is expected to take place on January 22, 2011 from the military base at Fort Hood, in Killeen, Texas.
