British UFC welterweight fighter Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy will be looking to bounce back from a march title fight loss to champ Georges St. Pierre when he takes on Carlos Condit this October 16th at UFC 120: Bisping vs. Akiyama. The event is taking place in the Big Smoke and will feature a host of other British fighters, including original UK MMA ambassador Michael “The Count” Bisping, John Hathaway and James Wilks, to name a few. Hardy recently spoke with ESPN UK and predicted wins for he and his countrymen come October 16th.
“I think [Bisping vs. Akiyama is] a tough fight,” Hardy said. “Akiyama came up against a Chris Leben who was on a roll, looking good and in shape already, and Akiyama wasn’t able to show his best. It was still a great fight. I was there live and it was one of the best fights I’ve seen. He’s a very tough fight for Mike, but having said that I’m very confident Mike will get the job done. There’s no way somebody is going to come to London and put a beating on Mike in the main event. I’m confident in all my British team-mates. Mike will get the job done, John Hathaway’s looking awesome. Fighting in London, all the Brits are going to bring their best. Nobody wants to get beaten in London, that’s a low point of your career.”
UFC 120 is taking place at the O2 Arena in London, England and will feature main card match ups between Hardy and Condit, Bisping and Akiyama, rising prospect John Hathaway and Mike Pyle, Cheick Kongo and Travis Browne, and James Wilks and Claude Patrick.
