MMAMania.com is reporting that a lightweight match up between DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki and boxer/Muay Thai fighter Yokthai Sithoar has been scheduled for the tenth anniversary DEEP 50 show, which will go down this October 24th.
One of the most dangerous grapplers in MMA, Aoki recently rebounded from an April loss to Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez by defeating both Tatsuya Kawajiri (submission) and Marcus Aurelio (unanimous decision), both under the DREAM banner. Aoki holds a black belt in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and owns fifteen submission wins out of his thirty total fights (five losses).
Yokthai Sithoar is the World Boxing Association super flyweight champion and is making his MMA debut against Aoki. According to MMAMania, Sithoar retired from boxing in 2004 with a record of 29-6-3 and could claim 18 knockouts on his record. Sithoar took home his last victory in 2003.
DEEP 50 will air live from the JCB Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
