Efrain Escudero vs. Charles Oliveira
Round 1: Oliveira started off aggressive with punches and kicks and missed a flying knee. Escudero pressed Oliveira against the cage and they were quickly separated. Oliveira landed a nice leg kick and straight right. Oliveira landed a left and went for a takedown, which was stuffed. Escudero pressed Oliveira against the cage and attacked the legs. Oliveira broke free and ducked under some of Escudero’s punches. Escudero blocked a head kick from Oliveira. Oliveira landed a good inside leg kick. Oliveira picked away at Escudero and went for a takedown, but was stuffed and was met with some shots to the head. Escudero got Oliveira to the ground and got in half guard. Escudero landed some big elbows as the round ended. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Escudero.
Round 2: Both fighters touched gloves to start the fight. Both guys exchanged early. Oliveira manages to complete a takedown, but Escudero is able to reverse the position and get back to his feet. Escudero landed some shots when they were back on their feet. Oliveira landed a pair of nice leg kicks. Oliveira grabbed Escudero’s neck and landed a pair of knees to the head. Escudero pressed Oliveira against the cage and tried to take Oliveira down, but was unable to. Oliveira landed another leg kick and ducked under some of Escudero’s punches. Oliveira started hopping around and landing more body kicks. Oliveira went for another flying knee. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Oliveira.
Round 3: Oliveira went for an inside leg kick early but accidentally nailed Escudero with a low blow. Escudero was given a moment to recover. Oliveira hit a push kick to Escudero’s gut and landed a leg kick to the body. Escudero was able to press Oliveira against the cage and accidentally caught Oliveira with an unintentional low blow that looked like it hurt. The referee asked Oliveira to get going even though it wasn’t close to five minutes. Escudero went for a big kick but Oliveira caught Escudero and got a huge takedown. Escudero got back to his feet but Oliveira climbed on Escudero’s back and sunk in a choke, forcing Escudero to tap.
