Todd Duffee had some believing he was the next coming after posting a seven second knockout of Tim Hague at UFC 102 last August. Fast forward a year and the talented 24-year-old is already gone.
The heavyweight’s manager, Alex Davis, confirmed his client’s release with MMAJunkie.com on Monday afternoon. However, he declined to comment further on the matter or speculate as to why the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion gave him his walking papers.
The youngster was slated to face Jon Madsen at UFC 121 in October, however a nagging knee injury forced him to withdraw. Veteran Gilbert Yvel agreed to take his place in the blockbuster event.
Duffee’s fighter profile was still on UFC.com at time of publication.
