MMAJunkie.com is reporting that WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan will see the addition of a featherweight bout between Diego Nunes and Tyler Toner. It was confirmed by WEC officials that the two men will be meeting on the preliminary portion of the upcoming card.
Grudge Training Center product Tyler Toner has only one loss and one no contest to mar his eleven fight professional MMA record. His loss came against current WEC bantamweight contender Scott Jorgensen. Toner made his most recent appearance in what was his WEC debut at WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber this past April against Brandon Visher; Toner defeated Visher via 1st round TKO (Elbows).
Diego “The Gun” Nunes also holds only one loss as a pro, a unanimous decision defeat to WEC featherweight L.C. Davis. The Team Nogueira member holds a 4-1 record in the WEC, with wins over Cole Province, Rafael Dias and Raphael Assuncao. He most recently appeared in action at WEC 49: Varner vs. Shalorus where he picked up a split decision win over Assuncao.
WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan is scheduled to take place this September 30th at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The event will feature a featherweight title fight between Champion Jose Aldo and top contender Manny Gamburyan. Former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres will also appear on the card against Charlie Valencia.
