Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker spoke with MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani last night after Strikeforce: Houston and revealed an interesting bit of information. According to Coker, he and former pro-wrestling producer, manager, promoter Paul Heyman have been maintaining a dialogue concerning utilizing Heyman’s well-documented talents to some effect in the Strikeforce promotion.
“Paul and I have been friends for a long time,” said Coker. “We just had a nice dinner, a nice chat. We’ll see. Paul and I have been talking about doing a couple of things together and if it works out we’ll do it. I think it’s gonna happen.”
Coker would not go into detail about Heyman’s probable eventual position with Strikeforce but he did say jokingly that Heyman would not be entering Strikeforce’s fold as a fighter. Coker indicated that a public announcement concerning Heyman’s role with the promotion would likely be released soon.
“He’s a very creative mind,” said Coker. “We’ll have an announcement probably in a couple weeks.”
