Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (c) vs. Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante
Round 1: Feijao came out swinging, but Mo was able to duck them and answer with some punches of his own. Mo went for a takedown, but Feijao was able to defend. Mo was finally able to land a big slam, but Feijao was able to get quickly back to his feet. Mo pressed Feijao against the cage and was able to land a couple of knees to the legs before Feijao spinned out and went back to the center of the cage. Feijao landed an uppercut and was able to stuff a takedown attempt. Feijao landed a big right and a pair of knees. Feijao landed a big leg kick as the round ended. Round 2: Feijao landed a leg kick to start the round. Mo came in and landed a few punches. Feijao landed a kick but Mo was able to use that moment to score a takedown. Mo landed several strikes before Feijao got back to his feet. Mo landed several body shots. Mo stayed busy, landing more body shots and punches. Mo went for another takedown, but Feijao was able to defend as the round came to a close. Clear round for the champion. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Mo.
Round 3: Feijao landed some bombs early that hurt Mo. Mo and Feijao exchanged and Feijao floored Mo with a big knee to the head followed by a big punch and followed up with a series of punches. Mo was holding on to Feijao who kept landing elbows until the referee stopped the fight.
Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante defeated Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal via KO (strikes) at 1:14 of Round 3 to win the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship.
After the fight Feijao thanked his team and said the victory was about them. Feijao thanked the crowd and god for his victory.
After the fight Mo said he was going to come back stronger and make some adjustments. When asked what adjustments he was going to make, Mo said that he wasn’t going to reveal that and that was between him and his coaches.
