MMAJunkie.com has confirmed that lightweights Paul Sass and Mark Holst will meet on the preliminary card of the upcoming UFC 120 show, completing the card’s now-official lineup.
With a professional record of 8-2, Canadian lightweight prospect Mark Holst entered the UFC this past June at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale show. Holst was defeated via unanimous decision in that debut against John Gunderson. That loss would break a three-fight winning streak punctuated by a submission win over TUF alum Corey Hill. “Boots” trains out of Renzo Gracie affiliate school Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts.
Paul “Sassangle” Sass will enter the UFC for the first time against Holst and will look to keep his undefeated 10-0 record intact. The Liverpool, England native won his first seven MMA bouts via triangle choke, an unprecedented feat. His other wins have come via submission (twice, via heel hook) and one by way of split decision. Sass trains with the Next Generation UK team and Team Kaobon. He calls UFC vets Terry Etim, Paul Taylor and Paul Kelly teammates.
