MMAJunkie.com is reporting that UFC 122, expected to take place this November 13th at the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany, will host a welterweight matchup between The Ultimate Fighter season 7 winner Amir Sadollah and native son Peter Sobotta.
German mixed martial artist Peter Sobotta entered the UFC with a record of 8-1 as a professional fighter. In his debut Octagon appearance, at UFC 99 in June of 2009, Sobotta would come up short against UK fighter Paul Taylor, winding up on the wrong side of a unanimous decision. After a sabbatical due to a military commitment, Sobotta fell short again this past June at UFC 115 when he took home another unanimous decision loss, this time to James Wilks. Sobotta will be looking to rebound from his two-fight losing streak when he takes on Sadollah somewhere on the officially unannounced UC 122 card.
Sadollah, a native of Richmond, Virginia, made his official debut as a professional fighter against CB Dollaway in the finals match of the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter(he defeated Gerald Harris and Matt Brown both to advance in the show but bouts on ‘TUF’ are considered exhibition bouts and do not count on a fighter’s official record). He has spent the rest of his five-fight professional MMA career under the UFC banner and has posted a 3-2 record in the organization; with notable wins over Phil Baroni, and Brad Blackburn. His two losses came against Johny Hendricks and Dong Hyun Kim.
In addition to the Sadollah-Sabotta fight, UFC 122 is expected to feature a matchup between Krzysztof Soszynski and Goran Reljic, and appearances by Dennis Siver, Kris McCray, and newcomer Pascal Krauss.
