According to MMAJunkie.com through German website groundandpound.de, the UFC has acquired a new European fighter in welterweight Pascal Krauss.
The 9-0 German fighter trains out of the Grappling Arts gym in Freiburg, Germany. He currently holds the welterweight championship title for the British fight promotion Cage Warriors Fighting Championships.
MMAJunkie reports that Krauss has earned seven of his nine victories via submission.
Krauss is expected to compete on the upcoming UFC 122 event which is expected to take place on November 13th at the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany.
The card is expected to air via tape delay on Spike TV on the same day that it takes place in Germany. UFC 119 is also expected to feature German competitors Dennis Siver and Peter Sobotta in addition to non-Germans Krzysztof Soszynski and Goran Reljic who are expected to face off in a light heavyweight contest. The Ultimate Fighter season 7 winner Amir Sadollah is expected to take on Sobotta, but no bouts have currently been officially confirmed by the UFC.
The UFC has been met with much resistance by German censorship committees when attempting to broadcast in Germany but that has not stopped them from attempting to push into the foreign market.
