Although Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva shared hugs after their battle at UFC 117, the challenger still has quite a bit of animosity towards the middleweight champ.
Silva’s dramatic triangle armbar submission came out of left field nearly as quickly as Sonnen’s dreams were abruptly shattered. Although he watched his lopsided upset victory dissipate like a fart in the wind, the challenger was still down to get his grub on.
“There’s a camaraderie that comes with this sport that’s inevitable, but fighting Anderson Silva is a lot like eating Chinese food. In 20 minutes after I do it, I’m gonna wanna do it again,” Sonnen said of his desire for a rematch.
And how quickly would you like for this mulligan to go down, Chael?
“If the Commission would sanction it and [Dana White] would move out of the way, I’d fight him [again] right now,” Sonnen said as the UFC president was position between the middleweights at the podium.
There likely won’t be an immediate rematch, however Sonnen has made a name for himself.
