Belarusian MMA veteran Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko is just about as seasoned as they come. Having been in the cage or ring against the likes of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Tito Ortiz, Pedro Rizzo, Andrei Arlovski, and several more notable names, there is little in the way of MMA that Matyushenko has not seen and experienced. Come tonight, however, Matyushenko will be taking on someone the likes of which he may never have faced before: Jon “Bones” Jones, a man who is sixteen years his junior. Jones has quickly become known as the next big thing in MMA for the way he combines power with flashy technique to take opponents apart. Matyushenko knows that this could be the toughest fight yet of his storied career but he maintains that he is prepared for the challenge.
Matyushenko will be putting his experience to the test when he takes on young lion Jon Jones tonight at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California. Their match will be headlining the UFC’s second live show to be broadcast through the Versus network. Mark Munoz vs. Yushin Okami is advertised as the co-main event of the evening. Both men recently spoke about their headlining bout tonight, which you can view below:
