Injured Jorge Rivera Out Of UFC 118

UFC middleweight Jorge Rivera has just pulled out of his upcoming bout with Alessio Sakara at UFC 118 in August due to a broken arm suffered during training.

Rivera confirmed the news himself via his official Facebook account and posted a picture of his X-Ray.

“Due to the fact that I have broken my arm & will not be healed in time, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to fight at UFC 118 in Boston. I hope to be fighting again late Sept-Oct. Thank you for your support,” Rivera wrote.

It is unclear as to whether or not Sakara will still be competing on the card or if the bout will be scrapped altogether. The Rivera/Sakara fight was set to be shown on Spike TV’s “UFC 118 Prelims” but the loss of Rivera could cost the Italian a spot on TV.
