With the domestic assault charges behind him, former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz is looking to get back into the cage. Ortiz wrote on his Twitter that he was targeting UFC 121 in October for his return.
“Can I be ready by Oct 28th UFC at the Honda center? We will know in 10days!” Ortiz wrote on his Twitter, incorrectly citing the October 23rd date as the 28th. This mirrors UFC President Dana White’s statement back in May that Ortiz would be returning this fall.
“We’ll be looking to get him in the ring in October or November,” White told TMZ this past May.
Ortiz owns a respectable 15-7-1 pro record, however has posted a disappointing 0-3-1 in his last four outings.
UFC 121 is scheduled to take place on October 23, 2010 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The card will be headlined by UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar defending his title against top contender Cain Velasquez.
