Executive director for the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Keith Kizer, confirmed today that all 15 “UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin” fighters who were selected for drug screenings passed their respective tests.
MMAJunkie.com received notification that Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin, Chris Leben, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Chris Lytle, Matt Brown, Krzysztof Soszynski, Stephan Bonnar, Brendan Schaub, Kendall Grove, Gerald Harris, Ricardo Romero, Jon Madsen, George Sotiropoulos and Daniel Roberts all produced clean results.
The test screened for anabolic steroids, performance-enhancing drugs, as well as drugs commonly used for abuse like marijuana and cocaine.
UFC 116 took place July 3rd inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lesnar unified the heavyweight title by submitting Carwin during the 2ndRound of the card’s main event. Lesnar managed to survive a dominating 1stRound onslaught by his challenger to become the Octagon’s top dog.
UFC president Dana White announced shortly after that the former WWE star’s next challenge would take place at UFC 121 against Cain Velasquez in October.
