Former UFC welterweight champ Matt Serra will make his highly anticipated Octagon return against a familiar foe. “The Terror” will rematch between Chris Lytle at UFC 119 on September 25th.
The 170-pounders first met in the finals of “The Ultimate Fighter 4? back in November 2006. Serra took home an uneventful split decision to capture the six-figure UFC contract and an immediate shot at champion Georges St-Pierre. Serra went on to shock the mixed martial arts world by posting the biggest upset of 2007 by putting GSP down in the 1stRound at UFC 69.
Lytle owns an extensive 29-17-5 pro resume and is currently enjoying a three-fight win streak. In perhaps the most impressive showing of his career, Lytle sunk in a triangle choke/straight armbar submission on Matt Brown at UFC 116 last Saturday.
It will be a homecoming of sorts for Lytle, as UFC 119 will be jumping off inside the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lytle is from the Hoosier State.
