As we reported yesterday, former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber has announced he will be forced out of his WEC bantamweight debut against Takeya Mizugaki at WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez 2.

“The California Kid” was unable to elaborate on his injury in his Tweet, however told Heavy.com that a knee injury was to blame for his departure.
“”Somebody was going to take me down during training. They swept me and I heard a loud pop. They said it would be six weeks before I could train again, but it may heal even faster,” Faber stated.
According to a report on MMAJunkie.com, a replacement will not be found for Mizugaki.
WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez 2 will take place on August 18, 2010 at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be headlined by a bantamweight title match between champion Dominick Cruz and challenger Joseph Benavidez.
