Former featherweight champ Urijah Faber has just announced he will be forced out of his WEC bantamweight debut against Takeya Mizugaki at WEC 50.
“Been quit the last few days, i was injured in pract on Mon. Just got results Im Out on Aug 18th. Not 2 happy chattin w @arielhelwani now.” Faber Tweeted just moments ago.
“The California Kid” was unable to elaborate on his injury, which is understandable given the 140 character limit imposed by the social networking giant, however will provide more information regarding his exit from the card later this afternoon.
“It’s crazy how things are dealt with, I’ve been on a gag order. I’ll have a video on urijahfaber.com & go on @carmichaeldave radio tonight,” Faber added.
WEC brass are currently scouring the globe for a suitable replacement to face Mizugaki inside The Pearl in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mizugaki’s co-main event status will likely hinge on who the UFC’s little bro is able to replace their most recognizable athlete with.
