According to MMAJunkie, the UFC has added just a little bit more depth to its middleweight division as they have acquired the services of Brazilian Rafael “Sapo” Natal. Natal’s signing was originally announced through Renzo Gracie’s official website; Natal is a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu instructor at Gracie’s BJJ school in New York City, New York.
Natal, who is 12-2 in professional MMA competition, recently netted his most high-profile win to date when he knocked out former UFC number one middleweight contender Travis Lutter in the first round of their May Moosin-God of Martial Arts meeting.
“Sapo” has earned seven of his wins via submission, three via KO or TKO, and two via decision. His only two losses came via a head kick knockout and a technical knockout due to doctor’s stoppage.
Natal is expected to make his UFC debut sometime this fall but no official announcements regarding the date, event, or his opponent have been made.
