If recent reports hold true, Indianapolis has become the new City of Brotherly Love. It was reported earlier today that Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ryan Bader may co-headline UFC 119 inside the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indiana, and now it appears big brother may close out the September 25th show.
Tatame.com spoke with Luis Carlos Dorea, boxing coach for Little Nog, who confirmed Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is expected to headline the card, hopefully in a rematch against Frank Mir.
“It’s almost set that he’ll do the main event, but nothing is signed yet. Maybe he’ll face Frank Mir, a fight that Rodrigo wants a lot,” Dorea said.
Mir handed Big Nog his second career TKO loss at UFC 92 in December 2008 en route to capturing the interim heavyweight title.
Many wondered why Nogueira appeared slow and sluggish prior to being stopped by Mir in the 2ndRound. Following the disappointing performance, reports surfaced that the Brazilian had suffered from a severe staph infection leading up to the bout.
