Alistair Overeem Wouldn’t Mind Fabricio Werdum

Alistair Overeem has wasted no time in moving past Fedor Emelianenko’s abrupt exit from the Land of the Untouchables. Since he wasn’t able to snap the Russian’s 27-fight winning streak himself, the Strikeforce heavyweight champion now wants first dibs at the man that was able to pull off the miracle.

“Congrats to Werdum for his amazing victory, he told the media he wants the belt so try to take it from me and fight me, rematch time!!!” Overeem Tweeted late Monday night.

While the Brazilian has never received much fanfare, Werdum is the only fighter alive that can pump his chest out, pop his collar and boast about the submission wins he’s hung over Fedor AND Ubereem.

In addition to handing Emelianenko his first loss in nearly a decade, the jiu jitsu black belt tapped Overeem with a crafty Kimura in their May 2006 bout at “Pride: Total Elimination” – something that has clearly been haunting Overeem.

Werdum’s stock has certainly skyrocketed if the champion is now calling for his head instead of Fedor’s.
