George St-Pierre’s Trainer Responds To Steroid Allegations

While UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre is too busy serving as coach on the 12th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” to fire back at the recent barrage of steroid accusations thrown his way, longtime trainer Firas Zahabi had no problem taking the mic in his friend’s defense.

“Nobody knows Georges or spends more time with him than I do and I can tell you that he absolutely does not use any performance enhancing drugs,” Zahabi told over the UFC 115 weekend. ”He works harder than everyone in the gym and constantly pushes his body to the limit. To push past plateaus.”

Furthermore, Zahabi points to the fact GSP’s body hasn’t changed much – if at all – since becoming a professional mixed martial artist back in January of 2002. The champion’s right-hand man believes you can credit Mr. and Mrs. St-Pierre for the chiseled foundation he was able to build from.

“He also has very good genetics. If you look at pictures of him when he was younger, he was always very lean,” Zahabi said. “I’m sure we all know guys who can eat like pigs and don’t put on any weight. That’s Georges. Look up ‘ectomorph’ on the Internet. I actually recently wrote an article on this body type.”
