Rich Franklin Remains Slight Favorite At UFC 115

Although Chuck Liddell once ruled the UFC’s prized 205-pound division, most would agree that those days are long gone. While “The Iceman” believes he has one last champion run in him, the sports books don’t seem to agree as they pegged him a slight underdog (+105) when he enters the cage tonight.

It may be surprising to some, but UFC 115 opponent Rich Franklin is actually the favorite (-125) coming into the GM Place in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Former light heavyweight champ Tito Ortiz was originally scheduled to throwdown with Liddell, however a recent neck surgery forced UFC president Dana White to call in a favor from the former high school math teacher.

“Ace” was once an up-and-comer in the light heavyweight division but decided to make the drop to 185-pounds. He was running the middleweight class around the exact same time Liddell posted seven consecutive Octagon victories, four of them coming in successive title defenses.

Now the two UFC legends will go toe-to-toe in a mildly anticipated scrap. The winner will move up the 205-pound ladder, but only White knows how far, while the loser gets to contemplate their future.
