Saturday’s UFC 115 Event Is Now Official As Fighters Make Weight

All the contestants slated to participate in tomorrow night’s “UFC 115: Liddell vs. Franklin” event tipped the scales today inside the General Motors Place in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

The card will be headlined by a 205-pound matchup between former champ Chuck Liddell and former middleweight king Rich Franklin.

Although Liddell owns a convincing 21-7 professional record, with 14 of his W’s ending before the final horn, he has clearly lost a step or three. To help compensate for his advanced age, Liddell turned his training up multiple notches, which included an immensely strict diet, to get his illustrious career back on track.

Since losing his middleweight crown to Anderson Silva back in October 2006, Franklin has bounced between the UFC’s 185 and 205-pound divisions. Richie’s last two outings came in a pair of 195-pound catchweight bouts, a unanimous decision win over Wanderlei Silva and a devastating 1stRound TKO loss to Vitor Belfort at UFC 103, respectively.
