After notching a series-low 1.2 million viewers for their UFC 111 broadcast in April, Spike TV’s “UFC Prelims” show for this weekend’s UFC 114 event captured 1.6 million viewers.
MMAjunkie.com confirmed the 33 percent increase today with an industry insider. If the report holds true, the latest freebie is the second-highest ranked “UFC Prelims” episode in the history of the series, falling slightly behind the 1.7 millions mark February’s UFC 109 show earned.
Overall, the broadcast drew a 1.1 household rating with a 1.6 score among Men 18-34 and a 1.55 rating for Men 18-49.
The hour-long lead-in show featured Dong Hyun Kim’s upset over Amir Sadollah, as well as Efrain Escudero’s unanimous decision victory over Dan Lauzon.
UFC 114 took place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
