According to Sherdog.com, heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and five other “Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery” competitors have tested NEGATIVE for anabolic steroids and other drugs of abuse.
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed the results of the company’s internal drug screening Friday afternoon. According to Coker, Ubereem is joined by Antonio Silva, Joey Villasenor, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante and Antwain Britt that produced clean tests.
Results for Overeem’s challenger Brett Rogers, Andrei Arlovski, Roger Gracie, and Kevin Randleman are still pending.
Immediately following last Friday’s weigh-ins, Coker requested to have all the main card’s participants submit to an internal drug test conducted by a local independent laboratory. The urgency to hold their own screening after it was discovered the Missouri Office of Athletics, the governing body that oversaw last Saturday’s Showtime event, would only execute RANDOM post-fight testing.
