Andrei Arlovski vs. Antonio Silva
Round 1: Both men traded inside leg kicks. They traded punches. Silva landed a hard left hook, but Arlovski shrugged it off. Silva caught Arlovski with another hard right and and followed it up with a couple more punches, but Arlovksi stayed standing. Silva pressed Arlovski against the cage and landed some knees to the legs. Silva landed a couple more big shots as they were pressing off the cage. Silva took Arlovski down and landed a punch from the top, and got in Arlovski’s guard. Silva pressed Arlovski against the cage, and Arlovski was able to get back to his feet as the round came to a close. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Silva.
Round 2: Arlovski threw a combination but left himself open and Silva landed a right hook. Silva tagged Arlovski with several hard shots and pressed Arlovski against the cage. After staying tied up for awhile, referee Big John McCarthy broke them up but they ended up back against the cage. They were eventually broken up again and were back in the center cage. Silva changed to a southpaw stance and attempted a head kick. Arlovski started throwing leg kicks and body shots, but they clinched once again. They traded punches, with Silva getting the better of the exchange and traded more punches as the round ended. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Silva.
Round 3: Arlovski went for leg kicks early. Silva changed his stance back and forth. Silva pegged Arlovski with a couple of shots and pressed Arlovski against the cage. They traded short knees but were eventually broken up. They traded more in the middle of the cage. Silva connected with a couple of punches, and they clinched again against the cage. They were broken up again – the fourth time this fight – and Silva again landed a punch and then pressed Arlovski against the cage. Silva scored a takedown and was able to land some punches from the top. Arlovski got back to his feet and they clinched, and were broken up again as the round ended. Antonio Silva defeated Andrei Arlovski via unanimous decision (all scores of 29-28).
