Quinton “Rampage” Jackson talked to Fighter’s Only Magazine about his upcoming bout with Rashad Evans at UFC 115. During the interview, Rampage suggests that Evans only became a coach on The Ultimate Fighter because Lyoto Machida’s “English wasn’t good,” and that facing Evans is a warm-up for Shogun.
“I feel like fighting Rashad is a step backwards, because he doesn’t have the belt anymore,” said Rampage. “But if things go right, this will be a nice warm-up fight for Shogun. If everything works out it will be nice.
“Everybody knows I took time off, it would be stupid to go right into a title fight with Shogun so this will be a good test for me.”
Rampage also looks back at his fight with reigning UFC light-heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and explains that an injury caused him not to train properly for the bout.
