While most fans know UFC middleweight sensation Mark Munoz for his violent ways inside the cage, “The Filipino Wrecking Machine’s” initial claim to fame was on the wrestling mat. The latest of his countless accomplishments will come this Saturday when Munoz will be inducted into the California State Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Munoz holds a dominant 8-1 pro record and was last seen knocking out Kendall Grove at UFC 108 in April. The 185-pounder is one of the sport’s most decorated wrestlers, as the two-time Big 12 champion also earned back-to-back All-America honors during his tenure at Oklahoma State University.
Prior to his collegiate achievements, Munoz was a two-time California State Wrestling Champion for Vallejo High School.
Munoz is expected to return to the Octagon in a pivotal middleweight showdown at UFC 117 against former top contender Yushin Okami.
