According To Dana White, First WEC Pay-Per-View A Success

MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani got a few questions in with Dana White after Thursday’s UFC 113 pre-fight press conference at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Helwani asked White about the success of late-April’s Aldo Vs. Faber pay-per-view event. Although it was absent of almost any indication that it was a WEC event, Aldo Vs. Faber was in fact WEC 48 and it marked the first time that the WEC had taken to pay-per-view. Much speculation was made, before and after the fight, as to whether or not the WEC’s first pay-per-view venture would be successful. White disclosed, unofficially, that the event was a success and even exceeded expectations.

“It was a good show,” said White. “It was a good show. We’re happy with the results. We beat many of the expectations. A lot of guys in the office were real negative about it. I wasn’t.”

Below is the full video, which includes White’s reaction to fans’ disappointment at the lack of WEC branding.
