Strikeforce ended months of speculation regarding Fedor Emelianenko’s future with the organization when they announced the Russian would finally meet Fabricio Werdum on June 26th.
Here is the message Emelianenko posted on his official blog Tuesday afternoon:
It has been a while since I have submitted a blog for you but I am back. Over the past few months I have been spending time with my family, traveling (we just came back from Japan with Marina and some friends), attending various events, and of course training.
Today I am happy to announce that I am going to fight Fabricio Werdum at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on the 26th of June! The fight will be live on Showtime. I finally have a chance to stand across the cage from the man who beat my brother, and to make that loss right.
I would also like to thank the people who take the time to email and send me messages. There are many, so my apologies if it takes me time to respond. All I want to do is to fight, and now I once again have that opportunity.
My training continues and I look forward to the fight. I will keep you updated over the coming weeks.
