The official attendance and revenue numbers for this weekend’s “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber” event are in and they aren’t quite as spectacular as originally announced.
According to the California State Athletic Commission, 12,555 paid attendees packed the Arco Arena in Sacramento witness featherweight champ Jose Aldo unleash a vicious barrage of kicks to Urijah Faber’s left thigh.
The WEC’s first pay-per-view event garnered a total of $792,640 in gate receipts.
These numbers are quite a bit off from the preliminary numbers announced at the post-fight press conference. It was reported that 14,144 fans attended the show, earning $1 million in gate receipts.
