Round 1: Mo tagged Mousasi with a couple of punches early. Mo came on aggressive, and delivered a takedown but caught several punches from Mousasi while securing the takedown. Mousasi attempted a triangle, but Mo was able to get out and maintain control on the top. Mo got side control, but eventually gave it up and stood up. Mo landed some punches from the top. Mousasi was able to get back to his feet and landed several knees that stunned Mo. Mousasi turned up the heat and landed several punches before Mo scored a takedown. Mousasi got back to his feet as the round came to an end. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Mo.
Round 2: Mo is visible tired. Mo got a takedown but took some shots in order to get it. Mo spent most of the round on the ground on top, but Mousasi did more damage with strikes from the ground. With a minute left, Mo scored another single leg. Mousasi went for an armbar, but Mo was able to get out. Mousasi was able to scramble and get to his feet. He took Mo’s back standing, but didn’t have enough time to lock it in as the round ended. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Mousasi.
Round 3: Mousasi got the better of the standup early in the round. Mo looks spent, but he’s continuing to throw punches at Mousasi. Mousasi peppered Mo with punches before Mo took Mousasi down again. Mo has Mousasi tied against the cage and is landing some shots on Mousasi. Mo spent the rest of the round controlling Mousasi and dropping punches. Good round for Mo. Round 4: Mo tagged Mousasi with a left hook and took Mousasi down. Mo continued to control Mousasi, although Mousasi was able to land a nice upkick. They were eventually stood up with a little over two minutes left in the round. Mo attempted another takedown and was able to secure it. Mo got side control and landed a couple of knees to Mousasi. Mousasi landed some strikes from the bottom. Mo stood up as the round came to an end. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Mo.
Round 5: Mousasi really needs to finish Mo this round or we will have a new champion. Mo has been very impressive so far. Mo scored a giant double leg takedown early. and continued to land punches from the top. Mousasi nailed Mo with an illegal upkick and referee John McCarthy paused the fight. Mousasi was deducted a point for the illegal kick. The fight resumed where it left off and Mo continued to dominate on top. Mousasi landed some strikes from the bottom, but Mo maintained control. Mousasi got back to his feet, but Mo took his back and Mousasi escaped. Mousasi started swinging away, and Mo scored another takedown with a minute left. Mousasi was able to get back to his feet and pressed forward, but Mo was able to avoid his punches and score another takedown as the round ended.
