WEC 49 Makes Canadian Debut In Edmonton

World Extreme Cagefighting has announced that the follow-up to their first ever pay-per-view broadcast, WEC 48 on April 24th, will take place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on June 20th.

No bouts have been announced for the card, however the Canadian Press did confirm the WEC had decided to host their next show in Edmonton as opposed to Calgary.

WEC 49 will mark the second event in Canada for Zuffa in a two week span, as UFC 114 will emanate from Vancouver only eight days earlier.

Fellow Canadians Chris Horodecki, Mark Hominick and Yves Jabouin are all rumored participants for the WEC’s first event in the Great White North.

The event is booked for Rexall Place, home of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers and tickets will be available for purchase on April 18th.
