UFC Cuts Lucio Linhares, Caol Uno And More

Fighters Only is reporting that the UFC has handed out another round of pink slips; this time to several of the fighters who competed at “UFC Fight Night 21: Florian Vs. Gomi”.

Mixed Martial Arts veteran Caol Uno was cut on the heels of a disappointing first round TKO loss to Gleison Tibau at the last UFC Fight Night. The Japanese fighter went 0-2-1 in the Octagon since he made his UFC reappearance at UFC 99.

Brazilian Lucio Linhares got the boot after posting two losses in two UFC appearances. Linhares was stopped in both fights; his first loss came via heel hook to Rousimar Palhares and his second came from a second round doctor’s stoppage imposed by Yushin Okami’s fists.

Rafaello Oliveira, Rob Emerson, and Ronnys Torres also took home pink slips for their UFC Fight Night 21 efforts. All three men lost by decision; Oliveira and Emerson lost unanimously and Torres took home a split.

It is rumored that Jason High and Paul Buentello will also be released from their UFC contracts but no official word has been released as to either man’s status.
