Strikeforce heavyweight Bobby Lashley (5-0) posted a message on his Facebook.com page stating that he next MMA fight has been rescheduled.
Lashley was slated to fight at Strikeforce: Nashville on April 17th, but it now appears that the former pro wrestling superstar will fight next month at Strikeforce’s event on Showtime.
“Sorry for the delay in responding to all of you who are eager to see me fight again,” Lashley wrote on his Facebook page. “I will not be on the Strikeforce card in April, but my training is going very well and I’m fully prepared to step into the cage when the time is right. I will let you know as soon as my next fight is set!”
Lashley had told FightLine.com in an interview earlier last month that he had been approached for a bout on the April card, but had not had any opponents suggested for him when he was contacted about fighting on the card.
“The only thing I ever got was a note that said, ‘How about April 17th?’ and that was it,” said Lashley. “I responded back ‘Yes’ and that was a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t heard nothing else, no opponents or anything.”
Strikeforce: Nashville will take place on April 17, 2010 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The card will feature three championship bouts, with the main card being aired live on CBS. For the current card for the event, click here.
