“UFC Fight Night 21″ Gets 1.6 Million Viewers

Spike TV has just announced that Wednesday’s airing of “UFC Fight Night 21″ earned an average audience of 1.6 million viewers.

According to company executives, the show peaked at 2 million viewers just before the start of the evening’s featured contest. The broadcast was the top rated program in its timeslot among Men 18-34 and Men 18-49.

The event took place inside the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. A lightweight bout between former two-time top contender Kenny Florian and Takanori Gomi headlined the freebie card.

After eating a stiff left to the face, Florian got a hold of Gomi and violently slammed him to the ground. After a brief tussle on the mat, Gomi ultimately gave up his back and it was only a matter of seconds before the Brazilian jiu jitsu ace sunk in a vicious rear-naked choke that forced Gomi to tap.
