“UFC Fight Night 21″ Draws 7,700 Fans For $590,685

“UFC Fight Night 21″ took place Wednesday night inside the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.

It was reported after the event that 7,700 fans packed the arena, garnering the UFC a $590,685 live gate.

A lightweight bout between former two-time top contender Kenny Florian and Takanori Gomi headlined the Spike TV broadcast. Florian looked absolutely sensational throughout the scrap as he controlled Gomi with his lightening-quick left jab for most of the first two rounds, however turned up the heat in the final stanza.

After eating a stiff left to the face, Florian got a hold of Gomi and violently slammed him to the canvas. After a brief tussle on the ground, Gomi ultimate gave up his back and it was only a matter of seconds before the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace sunk in a vicious rear-naked choke.
