Tito Ortiz Tweets Heath Status

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has finally put to bed all the creative Internet rumors that recently emerged regarding his current state of health.

The controversial wrestler confirmed the flu is the mysterious illness that may have cost him his third fight with bitter rival and Octagon Hall of Famer, Chuck Liddell.

“Nice to be home. They put 6 bags of fluid in me. I’m better now. I lost 15lb. I [thought] I had swine flu but I didn’t. Just a really bad flu,” Ortiz posted on his Twitter account Tuesday night.

FightersOnly reported on Saturday that Ortiz would be forced out of his highly anticipated fight against Liddell, not because of an injury, but something that will “significantly impact his future as a fighter.”

The source told FightersOnly that former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin had agreed to step-in against “The Iceman” to headline the last minute April 17th event the organization is rumored to be holding, however that show appears to be a bluff in an attempt to spook Strikeforce.

For now, there has been no confirmation from the organization or either fighter that Liddell vs. Ortiz III will not go down at UFC 115 on June 12th as expected.
