The UFC continues to deepen their welterweight talent pool with the recent addition of Toronto, Ontario native Claude Patrick (11-1). Fighters Only Magazine is reporting that Patrick made the announcement during an interview with Mauro Ranallo on “The Fight Show.”
Patrick is a former International Fight League fighter and has racked up eleven wins and one loss as a professional. Eight of his wins have come by way of submission and three by TKO; his lone loss came by decision against Drew McFedries.
Despite current efforts by the UFC to lobby Ontario officials, Patrick’s home city of Toronto has yet to legalize MMA. This won’t stop him from fighting in front of a home crowd though, as he is expected to appear on the planned-but-not-confirmed UFC 115 show in Vancouver.
