While most WEC 47 contestants were out getting tossed at their respective after parties, former bantamweight champ Brian Bowles was busy Tweeting pics of his broken right hand following his disappointing loss to Dominick Cruz.
Following the scrap, Bowles stated that he broke his moneymaker on the first right he threw in their two round affair. The American Top Team-trained fighter said that because he broke his hand when he captured the belt from Miguel Torres in his last outing, it completely threw him off his game as Cruz easily dominated their matchup.
Cruz was quicker and relentless in his attack, and although Bowles continued to fight one-handed, the doctor sitting cage-side declared that he couldn’t enter the third round and brought the contest to its conclusion.
Early Sunday morning, Sherdog.com’s Loretta Hunt Tweeted that Cruz’s trainer told her the newly-crowned champ broke his hand in the fight as well, however “is back at the hotel getting a champion’s welcome.”
