UFC To Josh Barnett: Thanks, But No Thanks

In response to a follower on Twitter, former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett said that he’d be willing to go back to the UFC, for the right offer that is.

“They make the right offer and I’ll stack skulls in the Octagon,” Barnett tweeted.

ESPN’s U.K. website got in touch with the UFC’s U.K. president, Marshall Zelaznik, who confirmed that it would be “unlikely” for the former champion to return to the Octagon based off of his conversations with Dana White.

“All I can do is base things on what Dana has said, which would make it seem unlikely in my mind,” Zelaznik told ESPN U.K.

After he beat Randy Couture at UFC 36 in 2002, Barnett became the youngest UFC heavyweight champion of all-time. Following the bout, Barnett was stripped of the title for testing positive for three anabolic drugs.

Barnett is currently awaiting an official opponent for his Dream debut at Dream.13.
